Job summary

PSR Solutions is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a growing main contractor in the North West, with weekly travel to London for project work. You will be based at the North West head office and supported by an experienced commercial team, gaining exposure to major London market projects.

You will assist with commercial management, subcontractor packages, cost reporting and valuations, developing your career in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• A degree/HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
• Previous experience within a main contractor or construction environment.
• Good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisation.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• A proactive approach with the desire to learn and develop.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the Quantity Surveyor with the commercial management of projects.
• Assisting with the preparation and management of subcontractor packages.
• Reviewing and evaluating subcontractor quotations and applications.
• Assisting with valuations, payment applications and final accounts.
• Supporting the preparation and submission of variations and compensation events.
• Monitoring project costs, expenditure and financial forecasts.
• Assisting with cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
• Maintaining accurate commercial records and documentation.
• Supporting procurement and subcontract negotiations.
• Building effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assisting with the identification and management of commercial risks and opportunities.
