Job summary

Recco in Orpington, Kent, is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on high-end residential refurbishment and education projects up to £4m.

You will support the Quantity Surveyor through pre-construction to project completion, assist with valuations, variations, subcontractor payments, cost reporting and procurement, and develop toward taking full commercial responsibility while collaborating with site teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years' experience within an Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor position.
• Main contracting, refurbishment or construction experience.
• Experience across residential and/or education projects would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of valuations, variations, procurement, subcontractor management and cost control.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail.
• Confident communicator with the ability to work closely with site and commercial teams.
• Ambitious and keen to progress towards a Quantity Surveyor position.
• Based within a commutable distance of South East London / Kent.

A main contractor based in Kent is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The business delivers a range of refurbishment projects, with a strong focus on high-end residential refurbishment and education schemes, with project values reaching up to approximately £4m.

This is a good opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their commercial experience within a supportive team, gaining exposure across projects from procurement through to completion.
