Job summary

Careys is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a major Energy Recovery Facility in Tees Valley. You will work with experienced professionals to gain exposure to the project lifecycle and develop your commercial expertise on a landmark scheme.

This role offers a clear development path, structured training, and long-term career security within a leading infrastructure contractor.

Qualifications

Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
Knowledge of NEC contracts.
A Quantity Surveying degree or be working towards one.
Strong commercial awareness and excellent organisational skills.
A genuine desire to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

Support the commercial management of the project, working with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager and operational teams to achieve commercial objectives.
Assist with CVRs, forecasts and cost reporting.
Assist with valuations and change management.
Support subcontract procurement and administration.
Prepare payment applications and subcontract documentation.
Monitor project costs, risks and opportunities.
Build relationships with site teams, clients and subcontractors.
Develop knowledge across NEC contracts and major civil engineering works.
