Careys is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team on a major Energy Recovery Facility in Tees Valley. You will work with experienced professionals to gain exposure to the project lifecycle and develop your commercial expertise on a landmark scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts.
• A Quantity Surveying degree or be working towards one.
• Strong commercial awareness and excellent organisational skills.
• A genuine desire to learn and develop.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of the project, working with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager and operational teams to achieve commercial objectives.
• Assist with CVRs, forecasts and cost reporting.
• Assist with valuations and change management.
• Support subcontract procurement and administration.
• Prepare payment applications and subcontract documentation.
• Monitor project costs, risks and opportunities.
• Build relationships with site teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Develop knowledge across NEC contracts and major civil engineering works.
