Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the Quantity Surveyor in all QS services, assisting in the financial management of projects to maximise commercial results on site in the United Kingdom.

A degree, HNC, or HND or equivalent qualification is required; proven construction experience; knowledge of planning software; familiarity with JCT/NEC contracts; and strong communication, accuracy, and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent professional qualification.
Proven experience of construction.
Knowledge of planning and scheduling software.
Knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.
Knowledge of building and construction techniques.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral.

Responsibilities

Measure, price, negotiate and agree costs for variations to project scope.
Produce and maintain up to date procurement schedules.
Receive and analyse quotations, liaising with Contracts Managers and site agents regarding price, proven history, availability etc.
Compile sub-contract orders for approval.
Produce and process formal sub-contract documents and certify interim/final payments and final subcontract account.
Attend and contribute to fortnightly Project Review Meetings.
Assist in the measurement/remeasurement of work sections.
Measurement and recording of works completed on site for valuation purposes.
