Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to drive cost planning, commercial control, and value management on live projects in the UK. Working with the Commercial Manager and delivery teams, you’ll manage budgets, valuations, and procurement, ensuring margins are protected.

You’ll bring at least five years’ experience in construction, a strong grasp of JCT/NEC contracts, and a reliable approach to reporting, cash flow forecasting, and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Strong cost management and forecasting skills.
• Working knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and procurement processes.
• Experience with interim valuations, final accounts and cashflow reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Commercial Manager in overseeing project performance.
• Prepare cost plans, budgets, and forecasts for live projects.
• Draft, submit and agree interim valuations and final accounts.
• Ensure timely applications for payment.
• Track and value variations with clients and supply chain partners.
• Provide commercial input to procurement and subcontractor appointments.
• Prepare regular cost reports and cash flow forecasts.
• Attend site and client meetings to provide commercial insight.
• Mentor junior members of the commercial team.
