Assistant Quantity Surveyor
Thatcham | Up to £40,000 + Car Allowance

Family-owned main contractor based in Thatcham, delivering projects across commercial, industrial, defence, education, healthcare, leisure, community, and residential sectors.

Typical project values range from £750k to £5m, with larger schemes reaching up to £15-20m. The business has a strong reputation for quality and long-standing client relationships.

Seeking a degree-qualified Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support ongoing growth. Experience in residential construction is welcome, and training will be provided to develop knowledge across other sectors.

The role will include:

  1. Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents
  2. Supporting the management of subcontractor packages, including procurement and payments
  3. Monitoring project costs and reporting on variations
  4. Helping to prepare interim valuations and final accounts
  5. Working closely with site teams to ensure cost control and value for money
  6. Attending site meetings and assisting with progress reporting
