Job summary

Asper Recruitment’s client in Dundee is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team. The role focuses on NEC contract experience and developing commercial expertise with increasing responsibility.

You will support procurement, valuations, cost control and package management while working alongside senior commercial staff to drive project performance and timely final accounts.

Qualifications

• Assistant Quantity Surveyor in construction with NEC contract exposure.
• NEC contracts knowledge is essential.
• Strong cost control, valuations and subcontractor understanding.
• Strong numeracy and communication abilities.
• Willing to work full-time from the Dundee Office.
• QS qualification or relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist commercial management of construction projects from procurement through to final account.
• Support NEC contracts administration, including early warnings, compensation events and variations.
• Assist with subcontractor procurement, tender evaluations and package management.
• Prepare and review valuations, payment applications and subcontractor accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and commercial performance.
• Assist with cost reporting, forecasting and change management.
• Work closely with senior commercial staff and project delivery teams.

My client is an established and progressive construction contractor seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in Dundee.

• Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within construction.
• Practical experience or working knowledge of NEC forms of contract is essential.

• Strong numerical, communication and organisational skills.
• Commercially aware, proactive and keen to develop.
• Willing and able to work full-time from the Dundee Office.
• Quantity Surveying qualification or relevant industry experience.
