Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee commercial performance across civil engineering and infrastructure projects. You will work with project teams, subcontractors and clients to ensure cost control and value delivery.

Key duties include budgeting, procurement, valuations, final accounts and contract changes, with strong emphasis on risk management and reporting to senior management.

Qualifications

• Experience as Quantity Surveyor in construction, civils or infrastructure.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Good IT skills, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of allocated projects.

Quantity Surveyor

We are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join an established and growing construction business, working across a range of civil engineering and infrastructure projects.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial performance of projects from procurement through to final account, working closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of allocated projects.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cost reports.
• Manage subcontractor procurement and commercial accounts.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Manage variations, compensation events and contractual changes.
• Monitor project costs, commitments and cash flow.
• Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support contract administration and commercial negotiations.
• Work closely with project and site teams to ensure effective cost control.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Provide regular commercial reporting to senior management.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, civils or infrastructure.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Experience managing subcontractor accounts and procurement.
• Knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contracts.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification desirable.
