Qualifications

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will monitor and control costs of contracts whilst maximising value. This role supports the Senior Quantity Surveyor and Head of Contracts in protecting business contracts and maintaining good customer relations.

What you’ll do:

• Manage sub-contract procurement, including preparation of order documents.
• Process subcontractor requests for payment and issue notices.
• Measure progress, assist in submitting valuations, prepare final accounts, and monitor receipt of payments.
• Conduct change management, variations, and raise purchase orders within budget.
• Manage day-to-day cost control, monitoring, reporting, and contract administration to ensure compliance.
• Complete monthly cost/valuation reports and cash flow forecasts for projects.
• Attend project and company meetings and perform other related tasks.

What you’ll bring:

• Vocational experience (HND, HNC, BTech) or equivalent relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the construction industry.
• Experience in a similar role with understanding of contract terminology and subcontractor practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects.
