Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the Scottish Power framework across the Central Belt of Scotland. The role involves managing costs, procurement and value for money on building and civil projects, with potential line management and collaboration across the commercial team.
Typical requirements include relevant degree, progression toward RICS, full UK driving licence, and strong IT skills.
Balfour Beatty is looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor (QS) to support the Scottish Power framework, covering the Central Belt of Scotland. The role will involve working across projects within this region. The successful candidate will have several years’ experience managing all costs and income within their area of responsibility on building and civil engineering projects. The role may include line management of less experienced commercial staff and supporting more senior team members in the delivery of a wide range of commercial duties. The QS will also be responsible for procuring and managing the supply chain. A key focus of the role is to actively minimise project costs and maximise value for money, while ensuring the required standards and quality are delivered for our customers. Typically, a Quantity Surveyor will be chartered, or working towards chartership, with a recognised professional body such as RICS, ICES or CIOB. They will act as a role model for less experienced members of the commercial team and will maintain their Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Day in, day out, our teams deliver amazing projects in challenging conditions; developing, managing and maintaining the vital infrastructure and public spaces that modern economies, societies and communities rely on.
