Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Ipswich team. The role supports the Commercial team with admin tasks, cost reporting, and payments, while gaining exposure to NEC3/4 and JCT contracts on highway/surfacing projects.

The position involves site visits, cost analysis, monthly CVRs, and collaboration with clients, suppliers, and site teams. 1-hour commute, salary up to £38k DOE, with career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Fundamental experience is knowledge of highways or surfacing.
• Experience with commercial documents e.g., applications for payment, compensation events. Sub-contractor reviews and framework documents.
• Experience working in a similar role.
• Candidates need to be within a 1-hour commute.
• Experience with contracts NEC 3, 4 and JCT.

Responsibilities

• Making site visits to carry out inspections.
• Prepare, maintain and process financial and project transactions.
• Support the Commercial and Sales team with admin tasks and ad-hoc duties.
• Analysis of project costs and preparation of monthly cost reports and commentary for any variance.
• Valuing completed work and applying for payments.
• Attend meetings onsite or elsewhere with the Site Teams, Clients, Suppliers and other parties as required.
• Use systems and processes, allowing effective measurement of commercial performance.
• Assist in provide accurate, real time, monthly reports (Cost Value Reconciliations) and final outcome forecasts.

An Assistant Quantity Surveyor is required to join our client's established team based in Ipswich. Our client is a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a strong presence across the UK, delivering a diverse range of projects for both public and private sector clients. • Salary: Up to £38k DOE
