Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd in Ipswich are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our established civil engineering team. You will support the Commercial team with cost control, payments, and cost reporting on highway/surfacing projects across the region.

The role offers site-based duties, along with training and progression opportunities, and requires practical experience in highways or related contracts such as NEC3/4 and JCT. Salary up to £38,000 plus benefits is on offer.

Qualifications

• Fundamental experience is knowledge of highways or surfacing
• Experience with commercial documents e.g., applications for payment, compensation events. Sub-contractor reviews and framework documents.
• Experience working in a similar role.
• Candidates need to be within a 1-hour commute.
• Experience with contracts NEC 3, 4 and JCT

Responsibilities

• Making site visits to carry out inspections.
• Prepare, maintain and process financial and project transactions.
• Support the Commercial and Sales team with admin tasks and ad-hoc duties.
• Analysis of project costs and preparation of monthly cost reports and commentary for any variance
• Valuing completed work and applying for payments
• Attend meetings onsite or elsewhere with the Site Teams, Clients, Suppliers and other parties as required
• Use systems and processes, allowing effective measurement of commercial performance
• Assist in provide accurate, real time, monthly reports (Cost Value Reconciliations) and final outcome forecasts

An Assistant Quantity Surveyor is required to join our client’s established team based in Ipswich. Our client is a well-established civil engineering and infrastructure contractor with a strong presence across the UK, delivering a diverse range of projects for both public and private sector clients. Assistant Quantity Surveyor Position Remuneration

• Salary: Up to £38k DOE
