Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a surfacing and civil engineering contractor in Havant.

You will support the commercial team across residential, commercial and surfacing projects, assist with quotations, cost estimates, valuations and final accounts, and liaise with site teams to monitor progress and costs, with mentoring from a Senior Quantity Surveyor. The role is permanent and full-time, offering excellent opportunities for career development

Formación

• Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or similar role within construction.
• Exposure to surfacing, highways, groundworks or civil projects (preferred).
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline (advantageous).
• Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor with the commercial management of surfacing and civil engineering projects.
• Support the preparation of quotations, tenders and cost estimates for new and existing projects.
• Assist with project valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, expenditure and budgets to help maintain commercial performance.
• Support the procurement of materials, plant and subcontractor services.
• Assist with subcontractor enquiries, quotations and payment assessments.
• Identify and record variations and additional works.
• Liaise with site teams to monitor project progress and identify commercial issues.
• Maintain accurate commercial records, cost reports and project documentation.
• Attend site visits and meetings as required.

Location: Havant

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Our client, an established surfacing and civil engineering contractor based in Havant, is currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team.

The company specialises in surfacing works across residential developments, private driveways and commercial projects, operating predominantly within a 100-mile radius of Havant. They have an established reputation within the sector and undertake a varied portfolio of works for developers, commercial clients and private customers.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Salary & Benefits

Salary: £35,000-£40,000, dependent on experience.

Permanent, full-time position.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Job Requirements

• Previous experience in an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Junior Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role within construction.
• Ideally some exposure to surfacing, highways, groundworks, civil engineering projects.
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline would be advantageous.
• Good numerical, analytical and organisational skills.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with site teams, subcontractors and clients.
• Competent using Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications.
• Commercial awareness and a willingness to develop knowledge of construction contracts and cost management.
• Proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities.
• Full UK driving licence.
