Job summary

Kenna Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of commercial projects in Central London. The role collaborates with the senior team to ensure effective cost management across the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Quantity Surveying (or current study) and 1–2 years’ experience, with strong numeracy and communication skills. A proactive, organised approach and familiarity with MS Office are valued.

Qualifications

• Degree (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role (placement year experience welcome).
• Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills.
• Good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles.
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with QS software beneficial.
• Motivated, organised, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities
• Support procurement activities, including subcontractor inquiries and comparisons
• Help manage project cost control, valuations, and variations
• Assist in preparing financial reports and cash flow forecasts
• Attend site visits and progress meetings
• Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors
• Maintain accurate documentation and records

They specialise in cut & carve projects around Central London. To support their continued growth plan they are looking to hire an Assistant Surveyor to join their commercial team to support the delivery of ongoing and upcoming projects.
