Job summary

Apex Search & Selection Limited is recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support a North London Social Housing repairs contract within a large framework expected to run for years. You will work under the Commercial Manager and assist with cost control, valuations, SCO orders and subcontractor management.

Projects span from roughly £10k to £600k, offering a varied workload and significant exposure to commercial pricing and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience in Social Housing repairs, refurbishment and maintenance.
• Knowledge of NHF Rates and traditional pricing mechanisms.
• Experience with Schedule of Rates contracts.
• Strong IT skills including Excel and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial management of social housing repairs and refurbishment works.
• Assist with upstream and downstream valuations.

Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing

Barnet, Greater London

Apex Search & Selection is working with a leading Tier 2 Social Housing, Repairs, Refurbishment & Maintenance Specialist Contractor to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.

The business has a turnover of approximately £70m per annum and a strong forward order book, offering an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant QS to develop their career within a growing contractor.

The Role

You will work alongside the Commercial Manager and wider commercial team, supporting the delivery of a North London Social Housing Repairs contract. This is for a large frameworks which will last over a decade.

The role will involve projects and repair works ranging from approximately £10k to £600k, providing excellent exposure to a varied and commercially challenging workload.

Your responsibilities will include:

• * Supporting the commercial management of social housing repairs and refurbishment works
• * Assisting with upstream and downstream valuations
• * Working with Schedule of Rates contracts

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who has genuine experience within:

• Social Housing
• Repairs & Maintenance
• Refurbishment
• Schedule of Rates contracts

Experience with NHF Rates, external works and roofing would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate should also have good construction knowledge, strong IT skills and, importantly, the ambition to progress and take on greater responsibility within the business.
