Job summary

Cavendish Professionals is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in Central London to support commercial delivery on demolition, enabling works, remediation, and related civil projects across the UK. You will assist with budgets, cost plans, procurement, valuations, and reporting while expanding your quantity surveying experience.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Desire to develop a career within the construction industry.
• Experience with NEC or JCT forms of contract, and knowledge of demolition/remediation projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of project budgets and cost plans.
• Support management of subcontractor procurement activities.
• Prepare and process subcontractor payments.
• Measure works and assist with valuations and applications for payment.
• Help prepare variations, compensation events and change control documentation.
• Assist with monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
• Support the preparation of final accounts.
• Monitor project expenditure and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Maintain commercial records and project documentation.
• Liaise with operational teams, clients and subcontractors.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and company procedures.

Our client is seeking an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of demolition, enabling works, remediation, structural alteration and civil engineering projects across the UK. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop their career within a fast-paced specialist contractor environment.

The successful candidate will assist the commercial team in managing project costs, subcontractor procurement, valuations and financial reporting while gaining exposure to all aspects of quantity surveying.
