Job summary

Bimplus is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support its expanding workload in Burnley. The role will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, assisting with the commercial management of projects and the preparation of invoices and valuations.

The ideal candidate has around 3 years’ experience in a QS or Assistant QS role within civils or construction, with a good commercial awareness and a proactive, learning mindset.

Qualifications

• Around 3 years’ experience in a QS or Assistant QS position.
• Experience within civils, construction or a related sector.
• Street lighting experience is desirable but not essential.
• Good commercial awareness and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the commercial management of projects
• Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor
• Managing call-offs and subcontractor accounts
• Preparing and submitting invoices
• Assisting with valuations and commercial reporting
• Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
• Supporting the wider commercial team with day-to-day QS duties

A busy and growing business based in Burnley is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor (Assistant QS) to support its expanding workload.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, supporting the commercial side of the business and helping manage the increased volume of work.

The Role

The position would suit someone with around 3 years’ experience who is looking to continue developing their career within a commercial environment.

Street lighting experience would be advantageous but is not essential. Candidates with experience in civils, civil engineering, construction or a similar sector would be considered.

The ideal candidate will be relatively early in their career and have a good grounding in QS/commercial work, but will still be keen to learn, develop and progress rather than being the finished article.
