Assistant Quantity Surveyor - Position Overview

We are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our client at their offices in Derby and Ipswich. The company is one of the UK's largest independent surfacing contractors, delivering projects nationwide across various sectors.

Remuneration

• Salary: Up to £39,000 DOE
• 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with options for buy and sell schemes and entitlement increases based on years of service.

Position Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and inspections.
• Manage financial and project transactions.
• Support commercial and sales teams with administrative tasks.
• Analyze project costs and prepare monthly reports with variance commentary.
• Value completed work and process payments.
• Attend meetings with site teams, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Utilize systems to monitor commercial performance.
• Provide accurate monthly reports and final forecasts.

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge of highways or surfacing is fundamental.
• Experience with commercial documents, payment applications, and subcontractor reviews.
• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Candidates should reside within a 1-hour commute.
• Experience with NEC 3, NEC 4, and JCT contracts.
