Our client, based in Halstead, is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their busy team.

The Role

You will handle internal enquiries and send out enquiries for materials and sub-contract items. Additionally, you will receive and evaluate prices for materials and sub-contractors, building up the price using either the estimating system or an Excel spreadsheet. You will assist the Sales & Estimating Manager in completing and returning tenders by measuring drawings and completing buying enquiries.

Duties

• Assist with resolving issues related to contracts and commercial operations.
• Produce, prepare, and submit applications for payment.
• Secure and chase payments from main contractors.
• Prepare and update cash flow forecasts and report to senior management.
• Administer future turnover projects and update the company’s order book.
• Manage the costing system (EVO).
• Review project costings against budgets, perform contract analysis, and cost value reconciliations.
• Monitor & Control
• Undertake project take-offs.
• Administer sub-contract orders and sign off sub-contract invoices.
• Attend site meetings and visits.
• Estimate costs for materials and labor required to complete projects, with team assistance.
• Assist estimators in establishing costs for existing and tendered projects.
