NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.
The shift pattern for this position is Thu (8am to 4pm) Fri (8am to 3.30pm). (Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.
Medical equipment is used for medical treatment and diagnosis of patients in all areas of a hospital and beyond. Having fully functional and accurate medical equipment is essential for the safe diagnosis and treatment of patients, and it is the Medical Equipment Management service that is responsible for that equipment. The Medical Equipment Management service are a team of highly trained clinical engineer technologists who are experts on medical equipment. We work across ten hospital sites in NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, managing the full life cycle of over 55,000 medical equipment devices, completing over 50,000 jobs per year.
The opportunity
To provide purchasing, stores and reception services for Medical Equipment Management teams based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and the Royal Hospital for Children. You will have a permanent 14.5-hour contract, working 7.5 hours on a Thursday and 7 hours on a Friday. You will manage the Medical Equipment Management reception area and stores for the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and Royal Hospital for Children. You will order parts, perform stock takes, book in goods and medical equipment, organise uplifts, and be the first point of contact for visitors to the service. You will complete the healthcare support worker induction, you will receive training on the Medical Equipment Management system, and on the procurement system.
