Job summary

Cygnet Group is hiring an Assistant Psychologist for Cygnet Hospital Stevenage. The post involves supporting psychological care across PICU and/or Acute wards, with weekly supervision by a qualified psychologist.

Key duties include administering assessments, developing formulations, planning and evaluating treatment programmes, and contributing to training and research. DBS checks are required, and the role offers a structured, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent.
• BPS Accredited (i.e GBR).
• Preferably Master's degree level in Psychology.

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage.

The Role:

We are currently looking to employ a full time Assistant Psychologist to join our Psychology Department at Cygnet Hospital Stevenage. The successful candidate will join a team comprised of qualified, trainee, assistant and psychologists and will work across PICU and/or Acute wards. The post holder will be working closely with and will be supervised weekly by a qualified psychologist, who will also be the post holder's line manager. We are seeking a strong candidate to support and enhance the psychological care of patients at the service by assisting the team with;

• Administering and reporting psychometric assessments/outcome measures
• Developing clinical and risk formulations
• Supporting with the development of Positive Behaviour Support and/or Safety Plans

• Planning, delivering and evaluating individual/group treatment programmes

Location: Cygnet Hospital Stevenage, Graveley Rd, Stevenage, SG1 4YS

Salary: £29,642 per year

Hours: Full Time, Mon-Fri, 37.5 hours, 8-4

Expected Start Date: ASAP

The Hospital: Cygnet Hospital Stevenage is mental health hospital consisting of six wards (male low and medium secure, two male PICU's, one female acute and one male acute). We achieved an overall Good' rating following a CQC inspection.

We're looking for someone who is

• Has completed a Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) or equivalent
• BPS (British Psychological Society) Accredited (i.e GBR)
• Preferably experienced in health care and/or in an Assistant Psychologist role
• Passionate about learning and working as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Preferably Qualified to Master's degree level or higher in Psychology (preferable)
