Job summary

Brook View Neurological Centre in Worcester, West Midlands, seeks an Assistant Psychologist to support psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention for adults with brain injuries and progressive neurological conditions.

Working under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist and Clinical Lead, you will contribute to assessments, interventions and rehabilitation plans within a multidisciplinary team, and communicate sensitively with residents and families to support

Qualifications

• Relevant experience as an Assistant Psychologist or in a related setting.
• Understanding of neurological conditions and their impact.
• Experience with cognitive or challenging behaviour.
• Knowledge or experience of psychological approaches used in individual or group settings.
• Ability to apply psychological theory within a neuropsychological and rehabilitation setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Compassionate, professional and committed approach to supporting people to achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of psychological and neuropsychological assessment and intervention for adults with acquired brain injuries and progressive neurological conditions.
• Work under the supervision of a Neuropsychologist and Clinical Lead; contribute to assessments, interventions and rehabilitation programmes.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team; support understanding and management of cognitive and behavioural needs; complete risk assessments and contribute to guidelines and management plans.
• Communicate sensitive information with residents, their families and colleagues, providing appropriate support and responding professionally to different needs.
