Job summary

United Utilities is seeking an Assistant Planner to support the PMO with developing, maintaining, and reporting on project schedules. You will work under Planning Managers to ensure accurate data entry in Primavera and collate contractor and internal progress updates.

The role emphasizes learning WBS/RBS/OBS/CBS structures, collaborating with Project Delivery Teams, and contributing to EVM reporting where applicable. Flexible, hybrid working is offered.

Qualifications

• Educated to A-level or equivalent; working towards a degree or professional qualification in project management or a related field.
• Some exposure to project planning or scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) is desirable.
• Basic understanding of project lifecycles and planning principles.

Responsibilities

• Support development and maintenance of project schedules under guidance from Planning Managers/Senior Planning Managers.
• Assist in data entry and updates in Primavera.
• Help collate progress updates from contractors and internal teams.
• Maintain records of schedule changes and assist in tracking impacts.
• Support preparation of reports and dashboards for schedule performance.
• Attend project meetings to take notes and follow up on planning-related actions.
• Learn and apply basic WBS/RBS/OBS/CBS structures.
