Job summary

Avolon M&E are working with an established specialist mechanical contractor to appoint an Assistant Project Manager to join their growing project team in London.

You will support the delivery of ductwork and ventilation on commercial schemes, coordinate with site teams and suppliers, assist with procurement and project documentation, and contribute toward progression into a Project Manager role. This is a permanent, on-site role in Central London with a salary of £30,000–£60,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience within ductwork and ventilation.
• Mechanical/building services background.
• Experience on commercial construction projects.
• Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Mechanical Supervisor or similar.
• Good understanding of mechanical installations and project delivery.
• Ambition to develop into a Project Manager.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical / Ductwork & Ventilation

Avolon M&E are working with an established specialist mechanical contractor looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager to join their growing project team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in ductwork, ventilation and mechanical building services who is looking to develop their project management career and progress towards a Project Manager position.

The Projects

The company delivers major mechanical packages across London, with projects ranging from approximately £4m-£5m through to £25m+.

Their work includes projects delivered in partnership with major contractors, as well as larger schemes where they take greater responsibility for design coordination, procurement, materials, plant and overall project delivery.

Projects typically run for 14-16 months, with larger schemes lasting up to 2.5 years. You will generally be based on a specific project for its duration rather than moving continuously between multiple sites.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced Project Manager, you will assist with the day-to-day management and delivery of mechanical packages.

Responsibilities will include:

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have:

* Experience within ductwork and ventilation

* A mechanical/building services background

* Experience working on commercial construction projects

* Previous experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Mechanical Supervisor or similar

* A good understanding of mechanical installations and project delivery

* The ambition to develop into a Project Manager

Please note: This is a London-based position and applicants must be able to commit to working on site in Central London five days per week.

Candidates whose experience is predominantly limited to AC units without wider ductwork/ventilation exposure are unlikely to be suitable.

Salary & Progression

Salaries range from approximately £30,000 to £60,000 depending on experience.

The upper end of the salary range is intended for experienced Assistant Project Managers who are approaching the level required to progress into a full Project Manager position.

The company's head office is based on the South Coast; however, London-based employees are generally only required to attend head office for initial onboarding and occasional company meetings.
