Bimplus is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to deliver high-value MEP packages on large commercial schemes in London and the South East. You will oversee pre-construction through commissioning, coordinating clients, consultants and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires proven MEP project delivery, strong budgeting and contract knowledge (NEC/JCT), and leadership of site teams across complex builds.

Qualifications

• Strong HVAC and mechanical building services knowledge.

• Experience liaising with clients, consultants and principal contractors.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.

Job description

Our client is a leading Building Services MEP contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-value mechanical and electrical installations across London and the South East.

Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of large-scale commercial projects valued between £10m and £15m MEP.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking contractor delivering technically challenging projects for blue-chip clients across the commercial sector.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Director, you will take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical packages from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You'll work closely with clients, consultants, commercial teams and subcontractors, leading site teams to successfully deliver complex MEP installations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of mechanical building services packages valued between £10m and £15m.
• Lead project teams including Site Managers, Engineers and Supervisors.
• Develop and maintain project programmes in collaboration with planning teams.
• Oversee procurement of plant, materials and subcontract packages.
• Monitor project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance alongside Quantity Surveyors.
• Chair progress meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
• Ensure health, safety and quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate commissioning activities and oversee successful project handover.
• Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining programme and commercial objectives.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships throughout project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager with a proven track record of delivering major commercial MEP projects.

You will ideally have:

• Extensive experience managing mechanical building services projects within an MEP contractor environment.
• Proven delivery of commercial projects valued between £10m and £15m MEP.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, public health and mechanical building services installations.
• Excellent commercial awareness with experience managing project budgets and change control.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience liaising directly with clients, consultants and principal contractors.
• Good understanding of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
• Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
