- Reporting to the Production Manager, key responsibilities include management of labour, materials, waste, health and safety, quality, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) to agreed standards through your team.
- Ensure knowledge and understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and be a role model in adherence to these.
- Drive performance and accountability in line with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) whilst utilizing various operational and people-based systems to manage information.
- Deliver, operate, and maintain all activities required to ensure food safety, quality, legality, and integrity throughout all site production, storage, and packaging operations, achieving this through your and your team’s work.
- Focus on developing people by ensuring training compliance for each team member, supporting personal development, and managing succession plans effectively.
- Manage all people-related activities such as recruitment and employee relations matters confidently.
- Conduct and facilitate site visits within your area of responsibility to support and represent both the IGC and Customer brand effectively.
- Own and lead the daily production meetings, report on area results, and drive actions.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings with wider teams, providing valuable contributions and identifying areas for improvement.
- Lead, support, and involve your team in relevant site-wide initiatives and projects.
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Demonstrable management experience, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
- Uses own initiative with good time management.
- Strong and confident leader.
- Proven track record of managing a team to deliver business targets.
- Quality-focused.
- Able to implement and manage change.
- Good attention to detail and numbers.
- Good decision-maker and problem solver.
- IT literate.
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes, procedures, and technical knowledge.
