High Care Production Manager (Morning)
Location: David Wood Baking Ltd. 14 Lyon Road, Bolton BL4
Shift: Full-time 04:30am - 2:30pm, 5 days out of 7, some flexibility required.

About us:
At David Wood Baking, we have over 20 years’ experience in the bakery business. We are passionate about baking and produce a range of quality frozen 'bake off' and craft bakery products, including Savoury Pastry, Sweet Pastry, Bread, Morning Goods, and Confectionery, from six bakeries across the UK.
Job Requirements
- Labour and Production Efficiency: Control labour levels, ensure machinery operates at set speeds, respond to over-usage, and implement cost-saving measures.
- Quality System Compliance: Ensure adherence to quality standards, manage team to follow work instructions, handle non-conformances, and facilitate quality audits and reviews.
- Raw Materials and Packaging Control: Manage raw material and packaging usage, ensure machinery performance, and proper storage conditions.
- Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards, and ensure staff are trained and aware of requirements.
- Staff Welfare and Safety: Prioritize safety, conduct risk assessments, and ensure safety procedures and equipment are used correctly.
- Training and Development: Provide ongoing staff training, promote multi-skilling, and communicate training needs for company development.
- Performance Management: Conduct staff appraisals, foster morale, and communicate company goals.
- Company Rules and Discipline: Enforce rules fairly, handle incidents, and recognize performance achievements.
- Equal Opportunity: Ensure fair treatment based on performance and ability.
- Operational Responsibility: Oversee hygiene, engineering, dispatch, receipt of goods, subcontractors, and non-production staff.
- Site Security: Collaborate with security personnel.
- Customer and Product Development Support: Assist sales with product trials and ensure customer satisfaction.
- External Visits: Participate in customer visits as needed.
- Holiday and Staff Coverage: Coordinate with team leaders for holiday planning.
- Management Collaboration: Work with senior management on improvements and initiatives.
- HR Collaboration: Assist with recruitment, training, and induction processes.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper use and maintenance of bakery equipment, liaise with engineers, and ensure technical knowledge is available.
- Additional Duties: Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by senior management.
