Job Description

The Directors are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and dynamic Assistant Principal.

This will be a permanent role. The appointed person will be part of the Leadership and Management Team within Valley College.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Communicating the college’s vision compellingly and supporting the Principal’s strategic leadership
  • The day-to-day management of the college
  • Formulating the aims and objectives of the college
  • Establishing policies for achieving these aims and objectives
  • Managing staff and resources to that end
  • Monitoring progress towards meeting the college’s aims and objectives

The Assistant Principal will also have a timetabled teaching commitment of 60%, complying with the Teachers’ Standards and modelling best practice for others.

They may also be required to undertake any of the duties delegated by the Principal/Vice Principal.

Please note:As the college operates across two campuses—one in Blackpool and the other in Rossendale—the successful candidate may be required to work at both sites to meet the needs of the role and support the wider team.
