Job summary

Ormiston Latimer Academy in London is seeking an experienced Assistant Principal (SENDCo) to join the senior leadership team. You will oversee the new Special Resource Base, shape inclusion, and line manage staff, ensuring SEND provision aligns with school priorities.

Day to day you will lead the whole-school SEND strategy, conduct assessments and observations, design interventions, develop individual support plans for EHCP students, use data to drive decisions, and coach colleagues to embed

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher with a successful track record in inner-city settings.
• Experience of supporting young people with ASD and SEMH needs.
• Up-to-date knowledge of SEND policy and practice.
• A SENDCo qualification would be a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the whole-school SEND strategy and line manage the new Special Resource Base.
• Carry out assessments and classroom observations to inform interventions.
• Design and deliver interventions and develop individual support plans for learners with EHCPs.
• Use data to guide key decisions and coach colleagues to embed high-quality SEND practice across classrooms.
• Deputy safeguarding lead and SLT member with teaching timetable responsibilities.
