We are looking for an enthusiastic Assistant Principal Lawyer who is committed to doing their best to support their clients, develop others and help lead one of our established Property teams.
HBPL is an innovative and ambitious Lexcel accredited legal service serving several local authority clients, schools and other public bodies in London and the home counties. The post holder will assist with leading and supporting the development of HB Public Law jointly with the principal lawyers, team leaders and other assistant team leaders.
This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a key role in large scale regeneration and development schemes, an interesting mix of social, commercial and housing property portfolio work and advice on governance in and around London and beyond, undertaking varied, high-quality work with like-minded and supportive colleagues who are dedicated to public service and making a difference in local communities.
The successful candidate will assist in leading and developing the existing highly motivated team, as well as personally undertaking complex property matters. Duties will include, but will not be limited to, receiving and allocating instructions, active supervision of staff to include appraisals, one to one’s and general mentoring, advising and supporting corporate groups, senior officers and elected members in a proactive and politically sensitive manner, supporting the strategic development of HB Public Law and being a senior liaison point for the client relationship role.
The successful candidate will have extensive previous property law experience and will be passionate about teamwork and developing others. The role involves assisting with the effective management of client relationships, so good client care skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with others is essential.
