Job summary

Thetford Academy, part of Inspiration Trust, seeks an Assistant Principal (Behaviour) to lead behaviour and safety initiatives. You will join the Senior Leadership Team to implement pastoral policies, monitor data, and drive improvements across the school.

You will oversee provision for pupils with special arrangements, manage anti-bullying efforts, and work with external agencies to ensure pupil safety. This role is based at Thetford Academy.

Qualifications

• An appropriate degree and Qualified Teacher Status.
• Proven teacher, leader and educational strategist.
• Proven experience of raising standards of behaviour through innovative practice.
• Successful involvement in performance management, self-evaluation process / annual development plan.
• Successful experience in leading and managing pedagogic changes at team, and preferably whole school level.
• Proven practice in leading, motivating and supporting staff to achieve high standards.
• Postgraduate qualification or working towards.
• Direct and successful experience of Ofsted inspection.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Senior Leadership Team to lead the development of new thinking about behaviour and safety across the school.
• Ensure pastoral policies (e.g. behaviour) are implemented effectively and consistently.
• Oversee provision for pupils with alternative arrangements and off-site provision.
• Lead on Anti-Bullying and ensure necessary aspects are covered in the school’s programme.
• Provide assurance that data recording, monitoring, analysing and actioning are performed on referrals and academic records.
• Lead on the analysis of performance data and generate reports for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with external agencies to keep pupils safe, cared for and supported.
• Assist line management of pastoral and behaviour staff to deliver school targets.
