Job summary

NHS Lanarkshire invites applications for a Band 4 Generic Assistant Practitioner based at University Hospital Wishaw. The role involves a rolling rota with one Saturday every four weeks and opportunities for additional shifts to cover leave and sickness, within a dynamic Orthopaedic Physiotherapy team.

You will manage a delegated clinical caseload, assess and progress treatments per protocols, and support planning of clinics and activities in a fast-paced trauma and orthopaedic service.

Qualifications

  • HNC in healthcare, education or social care or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience.
  • Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
  • Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and activities relevant to client group.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a delegated clinical caseload of patients whose treatment follows clearly defined parameters.
  • Assess, implement, progress treatment and discharge in accordance with agreed protocols and parameters.
  • Plan and prioritise delegated patient caseload.
  • Plan and organise a range of therapeutic activities/clinics.

The Role

  • An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Lanarkshire Trauma and Orthopaedic Physiotherapy Team for a Band 4 Generic Assistant Practitioner. The successful candidate will be contracted to work one Saturday every four weeks as part of a rolling rota, with additional opportunities to undertake extra shifts to provide cover for annual leave and sickness absence.
  • Based at University Hospital Wishaw, this role offers the chance to join a dynamic and supportive Allied Health Professional team delivering high-quality care within a fast-paced Trauma and Orthopaedic service.

In this key role, you will:

  • Responsible for a delegated clinical caseload of patients whose treatment follows clearly defined parameters.
  • Assess, implement, progress treatment and discharge in accordance with agreed protocols and parameters.
  • Plan and prioritise delegated patient caseload.
  • Plan and organise a range of therapeutic activities/clinics

What You'll Bring:

  • HNC in healthcare, education or social cares or SVQ III in healthcare, education or social care or equivalent experience in a health, education or social care environment.
  • Short specialist courses relevant to specific clinical area.
  • Awareness of health legislation relevant to the clinical area.
  • Knowledge of the therapeutic process, techniques and / or activities relevant to client group.
  • A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
