East Suffolk Council is seeking a motivated planning professional to join the Development Management Team as a Trainee / Assistant Planner. The role offers a clear development pathway toward MRTPI membership, with support to pursue an RTPI-accredited Planning Master’s degree.

You will manage a varied caseload, provide pre-application advice, and work with applicants, developers, and others while promoting high-quality development outcomes across East Suffolk.

Formación

• Experience in planning-related environment in public or private sector.
• Understanding of RTPI progression and chartered status.

Responsabilidades

• Manage a varied caseload of planning applications from householder to complex proposals.
• Provide pre-application advice and engage with applicants, developers and consultees.
• Prepare delegated and committee reports and draft decision notices.
• Develop planning obligations and support planning appeals and enforcement investigations as required.
• Provide professional planning advice to internal stakeholders and respond to public enquiries.
