Job summary

Broadland District Council and South Norfolk Council are offering a three-year Planning Apprentice programme within the Development Management team. You will manage your own caseload, work with experienced planners, and gain exposure to a wide range of planning challenges while earning a fully funded RTPI-accredited Level 7 master's apprenticeship.

This is a funded development opportunity to shape communities, support sustainable growth, and help deliver homes, employment and infrastructure

Qualifications

• Entry onto RTPI-accredited Level 7 planning apprenticeship.
• Must be able to undertake postgraduate study alongside employment (Anglia Ruskin University). Travel expenses reimbursed.

Responsibilities

• Assist on a varied caseload of planning applications, focusing on householder and small-scale developments.
• Undertake site visits and assessments.
• Liaise with applicants, agents, consultees, residents and elected members.
• Draft planning reports and recommendations.
• Support appeals work and planning investigations.
• Help deliver high-quality planning decisions balancing growth with protection and community interests.
