Job summary

Michael Kors is seeking an Assistant Planner – Channel Trading (FTC) in our London office. This role supports the Trading team with performance analysis, reporting, planning tools, and day-to-day trading activities while identifying risks and opportunities.

You will work across commercial planning, market support and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring accurate data, timely reporting and proactive actions within a fast-paced luxury retail environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • Advanced Excel skills required; experience with planning systems and data visualization tools advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with ability to translate data into action.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; strong commercial awareness in luxury retail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update sales, stock, WSSI and OTB data with accuracy.
  • Produce regular trade reporting and analysis; highlight risks, opportunities and actions.
  • Support in-season trading activities including replenishment and markdowns.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Buying and Operations to forecast, stock flow and trading activity.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Planner – Channel Trading (FTC) in our London office:

Department Overview

Planning supports the business to maximise sales, optimise inventory and drive profitable growth through effective planning and trading. Working closely with Sales, Buying, Operations and other cross-functional teams, Planning provides the analysis, insight and tools needed to manage performance from market through to in-season and end-of-season trading.

This London-based role sits within the Trading team, supporting Planners with performance analysis, reporting, planning tools and day-to-day trading activity, while helping identify risks, opportunities and actions.

What You’ll Do
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Commercial Planning & Trading
  • Maintain and actualise sales, stock, WSSI and OTB data, ensuring outputs are accurate and ready for review.
  • Produce regular trade reporting and analysis, highlighting key movements, risks and opportunities across sales, stock, sell-through and availability.
  • Support in-season trading activity including replenishment, ATS, transfers, cancellations, markdowns and end-of-season activity.
  • Support Planners with analysis, follow-up actions and day-to-day trading activity.
Market & Planning Support
  • Support market preparation through sales, OTB, WSSI, forecasting, option planning and buying analysis.
  • Maintain buying and recap tools, ensuring information is accurate and aligned to agreed plans.
  • Prepare analysis and materials for trade, OTB and commercial meetings, supporting actions and follow-up.
  • Support the review of buys against OTB, sales expectations and agreed commercial plans, highlighting material variances and B99 requirements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with Sales, Buying, Operations and other teams to support forecasts, stock flow, reporting and trading activity.
  • Build strong working relationships across the Planning function and wider business.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, raising issues, risks and support requirements early.
  • Take ownership of assigned reporting, tools and actions, delivering accurately and to deadline.
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy, documentation and handover.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve efficiency and reduce manual work, including through appropriate use of technology, AI and automation.
  • Support consistent ways of working and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing Planning team.
Decision Making & Influence
  • Use data and commercial understanding to identify performance movements, risks and opportunities.
  • Apply sound judgement when reviewing data, investigating discrepancies and escalating issues.
  • Communicate clear, fact-based insights to support trading decisions.
  • Take accountability for the accuracy and timeliness of work within the role's area of responsibility.
You’ll Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning systems and data visualisation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an interest in luxury retail, consumer trends and product performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
  • Proactive, curious and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Previous experience in Planning, Merchandising, Buying, Allocation or a similar retail analytical role preferred.
