Job summary

Michael Kors in London is seeking an Assistant Planner - Trading to support omnichannel planning across Full Price and Outlet. You will analyse sales and stock data, prepare trade reports, and assist in-season trading activities to optimise performance.

The role requires advanced Excel, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced luxury retail environment. You will collaborate with Retail Operations, Ecommerce, Buying and Product Planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel and planning/data tools experience.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.

  • Commercial awareness in luxury retail.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and actualise sales, stock, WSSI and OTB data, ensuring outputs are accurate and ready for review.
  • Produce regular trade reporting and analysis, highlighting movements, risks and opportunities across sales, stock, sell-through, availability and margin.
  • Support in-season trading activities including replenishment, stock flow, transfers, cancellations, markdowns and end-of-season activity.
  • Support Planners with analysis, follow-up actions and day-to-day trading activity.
  • Monitor performance against plan and highlight variances, risks and opportunities to the Planner.
  • Analyse channel, store and ecommerce performance to identify opportunities and inventory risks.
  • Prepare analysis and materials for weekly trade, OTB and commercial meetings.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Planner - Trading in our London office:

Department Overview

Planning supports the business to maximise sales, optimise inventory and drive profitable growth through effective planning and trading. Working closely with Retail Operations, Ecommerce, Buying, Product Planning, Finance and other cross-functional teams, Planning provides analysis, insight and tools to manage performance across Full Price Omni and Outlet.

This London-based role sits within the Omnichannel Trading team, supporting Planners with performance analysis, reporting, planning tools and day-to-day trading activity across Full Price Omni and Outlet, while helping identify risks, opportunities and actions.

What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Commercial Planning & Trading
  • Maintain and actualise sales, stock, WSSI and OTB data, ensuring outputs are accurate and ready for review.

  • Monitor performance against plan and highlight material variances, risks and opportunities to the Planner.
Retail & Channel Support
  • Support sales, forecast, OTB, WSSI and inventory analysis across Full Price Omni and Outlet.
  • Maintain trading, reporting and recap tools, ensuring information is accurate and aligned to agreed plans.
  • Analyse channel, store and ecommerce performance to identify opportunities and inventory risks.
  • Support analysis of seasonal assortments, delivery flow and reorder requirements.
  • Prepare analysis and materials for weekly trade, OTB and commercial meetings, supporting actions and follow-up.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with Retail Operations, Ecommerce, Buying, Product Planning, Finance and other teams to support forecasts, stock flow, reporting and trading activity.
  • Build strong working relationships across the Planning function and wider retail business.
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, raising issues, risks and support requirements early.
  • Support follow-up of agreed trading actions and ensure relevant information is communicated to stakeholders.
Ownership & Continuous Improvement
  • Take ownership of assigned reporting, tools and actions, delivering accurately and to deadline.
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy, documentation and handover.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reporting and ways of working, including through appropriate use of technology, AI and automation.
  • Support consistent planning and trading processes across the team.
Decision Making & Influence
  • Use data and commercial understanding to identify performance movements, risks and opportunities.
  • Apply sound judgement when reviewing data and investigating discrepancies.
  • Communicate clear, fact-based insights to support trading decisions.
  • Escalate material issues and risks to the Planner in a timely manner.
  • Take accountability for the accuracy and timeliness of work within the role's area of responsibility.
You’ll Need to Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with planning systems and data visualisation tools is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into action.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong commercial awareness with an interest in luxury retail, consumer trends and product performance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence cross-functional partners.
  • Proactive, curious and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Previous experience in Planning, Merchandising, Buying, Allocation or a similar retail analytical role preferred.
