Croydon Health Services NHS Trust seeks an Administrative Officer to support the Microbiology department, helping manage laboratory reports, correspondence and data with accuracy.
You will work closely with microbiologists and ward teams, ensuring timely communication and compliant information governance, in a busy hospital setting that prioritises patient safety and infection control.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Microbiology Team as an Administrative Officer within a busy and dynamic service. This is a rewarding role providing essential administrative support to the Microbiology department, helping to ensure the timely monitoring, reporting and communication of microbiology and infection-related information across the Trust. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the management of laboratory reports, monitoring outstanding results, processing clinical correspondence, maintaining accurate records, and responding to enquiries from clinical teams and other departments. Working closely with microbiologists, infection prevention and control teams, laboratory staff and ward-based colleagues, you will help support the effective delivery of a safe and responsive service. This role would suit an organised and proactive individual with excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Previous administrative or customer service experience, together with good IT skills, are essential.
