Job summary

Busy Bees Nurseries in Shoeburyness is launching a brand-new setting and seeks an Assistant Nursery Manager to help shape the early-years journey from day one. You’ll support the Centre Director, mentor staff, and ensure high-quality learning experiences for up to 81 children.

This role offers a competitive salary (£33,009.60), 28 days holiday plus bank holidays, progression opportunities, and wellbeing benefits as part of our Busy Bees package.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification or above in early years education.
• Experience in an early years setting with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Director in daily operations and maintaining educational standards.
• Develop and deliver an engaging curriculum tailored to children’s needs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and health and safety standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to staff to maintain a cohesive team.
• Deliver exceptional service and promote a positive nursery experience for families.
• Assist with administrative tasks including scheduling, payroll and recruitment.
• Manage operational records and support financial planning to ensure sustainability.

What You'll Do As An Assistant Manager

• Support the Centre Director in overseeing daily operations and maintaining educational standards
• Develop & deliver an engaging, high-quality curriculum tailored to children’s needs
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain health & safety standardsProvide leadership & mentorship to staff, ensuring a cohesive and motivated team
• Enhance customer satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and promoting a positive nursery experience for families
• Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling, payroll, and recruitment
• Manage operational records and support financial planning to ensure sustainability

Ideal Assistant Manager Candidate

• Level 3 qualification or above in early years education
• Experience in an early years setting, with supervisory experience an advantage—ideally as a Nursery Room Leader, Nursery Room Manager, or Nursery Practitioner
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills to inspire and support your team
• Passionate about fostering children’s development and creating positive relationships with families
