Job summary

The Metropolitan Pub Company is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Red Lion in Grantchester. You will join the front-line management team and help ensure the smooth running of a busy pub, leading by example to deliver great experiences for customers and staff alike.

You will support the General Manager, train and develop the team, uphold brand standards and safety, and adapt to busy shifts with a calm, proactive approach. Excellent communication and English skills are essential.

• Experience leading a team in a busy pub environment.
• Strong customer service and people skills.
• Ability to train and develop staff while maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in day-to-day operations and lead the business in their absence.
• Lead the team to deliver amazing customer experiences and uphold brand standards.
• Act as a role model for the team and support with training and development.
• Champion customer and team safety and ensure allergen controls are followed.
• Adapt to busy shifts with a proactive and flexible approach.

As Assistant Manager, you’llbe at the heart of our management team, helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy pub. From the moment you step through the door, you lead by example making sure our Customers, and teams, have a great time.

Qualifications

What you'll do as an Assistant Manager...

• Support the General Manager in the day to day running of the business and leading the business in their absence.
• Bring our brand to life by leading the team in delivering amazing experiences for our customers.
• Act as a role model for the team and support with training and development.
• Be a champion of brand standards & ensure customer & team safety at all times.

• You’ll be great with people, and as a result, have great communication and leadership skills making sure you get the best out of people.
• An ability to think on your feet and adapt to whatever challenges arise during a busy shift.

• Sufficient spoken and written English to perform the role safely and understand allergen controls.
