Job Description:

Job Title: Assistant Manager - Legal Managed Services

KPMG’s Legal Operations and Transformation Services (LOTS) team supports clients in optimising their legal functions to achieve operational excellence.

There are 2 core service offerings within LOTS: a powered contracting practice based on Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) technology, and a legal operating model transformation service. As we are expanding due to success, this is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to make a significant impact and shape the role.

We seek talented Assistant Managers to grow our legal operating model transformation practice by managing client relationships and developing our offerings.

The role provides experience across transformation project lifecycles and involves developing new services for KPMG, collaborating with global LOTS teams and other KPMG services like CIOA and People in Change. Our focus includes legal technology and automation, working with diverse clients from mid-market to FTSE-listed companies, public sector, financial services, and FMCG sectors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing expertise and insights during legal transformations
  • Supporting go-to-market strategies, collateral, methodologies, and partnerships
  • Leading workstreams in complex, multinational projects
  • Managing and directing service offerings and internal teams
  • Coordinating multidisciplinary solutions across services like Procurement, Finance Transformation, CIO Advisory, Risk, Legal, and HR

Leadership & Management:

The role reports to the Head of Legal Operating Model Transformation. The candidate will help shape and grow service offerings and methodologies, contribute to team development, and support business growth activities in the UK and globally.

Stakeholder engagement and management skills are essential, with experience managing internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities and industries.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

The candidate will contribute to the growth of LOTS and KPMG Law, ensuring adherence to risk and quality standards.

Experience required:

  • Running workstreams or programs independently, delivering quality work on time and within budget
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Facilitating stakeholder workshops
  • Conducting assessments, gap analyses, and roadmaps
  • Process mapping

Desirable skills and knowledge include understanding legal, risk, and compliance issues, digitisation of back-office functions, supporting change management, and business development activities.

Technical skills:

  • Legal function experience (desirable)
  • Project management qualification (desirable)

Core skills include persuasive communication, go-to-market development, stakeholder engagement, coaching legal teams, and managing small teams to deliver high-quality results.
