Job summary

Plumb Centre in Cambridge is seeking an Assistant Manager to help run the branch, supervise staff and ensure high standards of customer service. You’ll work closely with the Branch Manager to maintain operations and accurate sales processing.

The role is full-time, with weekdays and Saturday on a rota. Benefits include annual leave, a matched pension, bonus potential and access to discounts; trade experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in trade retail or merchant environment.
• Face-to-face customer service/sales experience.
• Willingness to step up to run the branch in the Branch Manager's absence.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Branch Manager with day-to-day running and operations within this small branch.
• Supervise and support branch staff, providing guidance and training.
• Serve customers on the trade counter, offering advice and product knowledge.
• Build rapport with customers and suppliers, respond to queries and process sales.
• Carry out general warehouse duties including goods in/out, picking and packing orders.
