Job summary

Greene King is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Plume of Feathers in Tewin. You will join the pub and dining team, supporting the General Manager and leading daily operations to ensure guests have an exceptional experience.

You will drive brand standards, train staff, and deliver outstanding service during busy shifts while upholding safety and allergen controls. A Personal Licence eligibility may be required, with company support to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lead a team and communicate effectively.
• Strong people skills and ability to motivate staff.
• Ability to adapt to busy shifts and resolve issues quickly.
• Attention to detail and high standards.
• Sufficient spoken and written English; allergen controls understood.
• Eligible to hold a Personal Licence (licence support provided).

Job Description

What's the opportunity?

As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the pub, helping to create a welcoming atmosphere, develop your team and deliver great results.

Lead from the front: Support, motivate and inspire the team to deliver excellent service and memorable guest experiences.

Help run a busy pub: Work closely with the General Manager to keep operations running smoothly and standards consistently high.

Put guests first: Make sure every guest feels welcome, whether they're joining us for a family meal, a catch-up with friends or a special celebration.

Drive performance: Help manage sales, labour costs, stock and overall profitability, making the most of every opportunity.

Develop your people: Coach and support team members, helping them build confidence and progress in their careers.

Keep standards high: Take pride in cleanliness, safety, compliance and the overall presentation of the pub.

Bring the pub to life: Help create a positive team culture and make the most of everything our pub has to offer.

Qualifications

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone who enjoys hospitality, thrives in a team environment and is ready to take ownership and make a difference.

You'll ideally have experience supervising or managing a team in a pub, restaurant or similar hospitality setting, alongside the confidence to lead shifts and deliver great service.

You'll also bring:

A passion for creating outstanding guest experiences.

Strong communication and people-management skills.

A positive, hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.

Good organisation and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Commercial awareness and an interest in driving sales and improving performance.

A willingness to learn, develop and take the next step in your career.

Personal Licence
As this role may involve covering the business in the General Manager's absence, you'll need to be eligible to hold a Personal Licence. You don't need to have one when you apply. If you're successful, Greene King will support you through the process of obtaining your licence.
