Job summary

Our client in the Isle of Man is seeking an Assistant Manager to strengthen the High and Medium Impact (HMI) Supervision division. You will support supervisors, deliver risk-based supervision, and engage with regulated entities to promote sound practices.

Working closely with the Manager and Senior Manager, you will contribute to supervisory inspections, risk assessments, and policy updates, while maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and staff.

Qualifications

• Holds, or is working towards, a professional qualification relevant to the financial services industry.
• Demonstrates evidence of continuing professional development (CPD).
• Possesses relevant finance sector experience in operational, compliance, assurance, risk, or audit roles.
• Displays effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Exhibits strong analytical skills, a flexible attitude, and the capacity to assimilate complex information quickly.
• Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to prepare for and actively engage in meetings with senior stakeholders.
• Demonstrates the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against deadlines.
• Capable of working on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
• A strong working knowledge of risk frameworks and the ability to manage and mitigate risks is desirable.
• Ability to contribute to broader Authority initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the supervision of a portfolio of high and medium impact firms.
• Ensure the HMI Supervision team completes all deliverables and objectives.
• Support the Enhanced Supervision team and other divisions.
• Deliver the Supervisory Methodology focused on risk-based supervision and compliance.
• Engage with stakeholders to facilitate supervisory processes.
• Develop and maintain Authority systems, procedures, and controls.
• Prepare risk assessments for regulated entities within the HMI scope.
• Identify risk trends and supervisory themes.
• Participate in supervisory inspections and post-inspection follow-ups.
• Build relationships with regulated sectors, industry bodies, and government entities.
