Qualifications

Assistant Manager High & Medium Impact Supervision Divisio

Our client seeks an Assistant Manager - (High & Medium Impact)

Role Profile: To contribute to the Authority's mandate of ensuring that effective controls and processes and supervisory activity are in place for the efficient supervision of high and medium impact firms across all regulated sectors (other than Banks and Insurers) and executing a defined engagement model.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist with the effective and efficient supervision of a portfolio of the high and medium impact firms;
  • To assist the HMI Supervision team in completing all deliverables; and
  • To support the Enhanced Supervision team, as well as other Divisions of the Authority.
  • Assist in the delivery of the Supervisory Methodology centred on risk-based supervision, including all supervisory activity associated with a portfolio of high and medium impact regulated entities, ensuring the Authority's systems and procedures are correctly followed and utilised.
  • Participate in the Authority's processes and functions supporting HMI Supervision.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the Authority's systems, procedures and controls.
  • Assist in achieving the HMI Supervision team's objectives.
  • Assist in the preparation of risk assessments for a portfolio of regulated entities in HMI Supervision.
  • Assist in identifying and assessing potential risk trends and supervisory themes.
  • Assist in the undertaking of stakeholder engagement, both internally and externally.
  • Participate in supervisory inspections of regulated entities. This includes undertaking appropriate preparation in advance of on-site inspections and completing post-inspection work such as writing reports, reviewing proposed remedial action and liaising with Enforcement Division where necessary.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with regulated sectors and where applicable individual entities, other regulatory agencies, relevant industry bodies and government agencies.
  • Ensure that public enquiries (including complaints against regulated entities in HMI supervision) are dealt with timely and efficiently in a courteous and constructive manner.
  • Produce and otherwise assist with the production of papers and reports on supervisory matters and periodic reports to the Board.
  • Support the Manager/Senior Manager - HMI Supervision with matters (including breaches of the relevant regulatory requirements) within the Division's remit.
  • Contribute to introduction of new or amended legislation, guidance, policies and procedures to ensure regulatory requirements remain appropriate and comply with international standards.
  • Volunteer/take on additional projects/tasks to support the Manager/Senior Manager - HMI Supervision and the HMI Supervision team and carry out any other duties as Required.

Key Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Holds, or is working towards, a professional qualification relevant to the financial services
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD). Essential.
  • Relevant finance sector industry experience in an operational, compliance, assurance, risk or audit role. Essential.
  • A working knowledge of Financial Services and associated legislation, regulation and guidance. Desirable.
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Essential.
  • Strong analytical skills, a flexible attitude and the ability to quickly and accurately assimilate information, to consider any associated risks and to summarise the information effectively.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels including the ability to influence and negotiate. Essential.
  • Ability to prepare, and actively participate in meetings with senior stakeholders both internally and externally. Essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage a workload of varied complexity, to manage competing priorities and to deliver against deadlines. Essential.
  • Ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team. Essential.
  • Strong working knowledge in relation to risk and risk frameworks, including the ability to identify, evaluate, rate, manage and mitigate risks and the ongoing monitoring and review of risks. Desirable.
