Job summary

Mourant in Jersey is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the Funds Services team, supporting financial reporting for a range of client entities and working closely with the Fund Accounting team. You will maintain accounting records, prepare and review financial statements and periodic reports, and assist with client communications, deadlines, and service levels.

This role offers exposure to UK GAAP and IFRS, experience with Yardi and Investran, and opportunities for mentoring fund accounting

Qualifications

• Entitled or Registered residential status in Jersey, Channel Islands.
• Qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience with up-to-date technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
• Experience with accounting systems, particularly Yardi and Investran/PCS is advantageous.
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Positive and flexible approach; aptitude for data analysis and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and address queries quickly.
• Build relationships with clients, auditors and third-party service providers.
• Be an exam and career mentor to fund accounting trainees.
• Act in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures.

Our Funds Services team in Jersey is growing!

We’re looking for an Assistant Manager to join our growing Fund Services team in Jersey. In this role, you’ll work closely with Fund Accounting team on the provision of financial reporting services to a range of client entities.

About the role

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in the client entity databases (including Viewpoint, Investran and Yardi)
• Preparation and review of accurate and timely financial statements
• Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and bi-annual reports
• Preparation and review of periodic reports, capital account statements and net asset valuations, as required
• Ensure you have a detailed understanding of the transactions and clients you’re dealing with and liaise with your line manager on a regular basis
• Work with colleagues and team members to ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed
• Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues providing explanations, advice and accounting support as and when required
• Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and deal swiftly with any queries
• Build trusted relationships with clients, auditors and third party service providers
• Be an exam and career mentor to fund accounting trainee(s)
• Be familiar with and act at all times in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures

About you

• Must hold ‘Entitled’ or ‘Registered’ residential status in Jersey, Channel Islands.
• Qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by experience with good up to date technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application
• Previous experience of accounting systems, particularly Yardi and Investran/PCS would be an advantage
• Excellent working knowledge of Excel, with on the job coaching also provided
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
