Job summary

Gentoo Group in Sunderland is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Property Maintenance Team. The role focuses on getting empty homes ready for new tenants, leading maintenance colleagues, and delivering a safe, efficient service. A 36-hour week with early finishes on Fridays supports work-life balance.

Location is Doxford Park, Sunderland, with move to Eastgate Point later this year. A full UK driving licence and a basic DBS check are required.

Qualifications

• Experience of working in social housing repairs and maintenance teams.
• Great communication skills with colleagues across the Group.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Support colleagues in the Empty Homes Team to grow their skills and do their best work while leading the team and supervising trades work.
• Ensure safety first and compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Plan and coordinate colleagues' work to ensure repairs happen in the right order.
• Inspect homes, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure Letting Policy timelines are met.
• Keep utility and energy supplies coordinated while homes are empty.
