Job summary

Nub News is seeking an ambitious Assistant Manager for our busy convenience store in Leamington Spa. You will support daily operations, lead a small team and deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a 40-hour week at a salary of £30,255 with training in Birmingham during the first weeks and a strong pathway for career progression. You will manage stock, shift schedules and help meet sales and KPI targets while maintaining high standards.

Assistant Manager - Convenience Retail - Leamington Spa

Salary: 30,255 Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week

We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Manager to support the daily operation of a busy convenience store. This is an excellent opportunity for a retail professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about customer service, team leadership, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Support the day-to-day running of the store.
• Manage stock replenishment across ambient, fresh and frozen products.

• Resolve customer queries and complaints efficiently.

Commercial Performance

• Help achieve store sales, profitability and operational KPIs.
• Monitor waste, shrinkage, availability and overall store performance.
• Control costs including labour and utilities.
• Produce accurate operational and financial information when required.

• Assessment Day: 1st October.
• Successful candidates may be invited to a second-stage interview.
• First 9 weeks of training will be based in Birmingham.
• Guaranteed at least one day off every weekend.
