Job summary

Nub News is seeking an ambitious Assistant Manager for our busy convenience store in Leamington Spa. You will support daily operations, lead a small team and deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers a 40-hour week at a salary of £30,255 with training in Birmingham during the first weeks and a strong pathway for career progression. You will manage stock, shift schedules and help meet sales and KPI targets while maintaining high standards.

Qualifications

• Previous retail supervisory or management experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Customer-focused with a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Able to multitask and perform well in a busy retail environment.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
• Commercially aware with strong decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Store Operations: Support the day-to-day running of the store. Manage stock replenishment across ambient, fresh and frozen products. Oversee deliveries, stock rotation, waste control, date checks and reductions. Maintain high standards of merchandising, cleanliness and product availability. Operate tills, handle cash procedures and assist with store opening and closing. Ensure compliance with all health, safety and food safety requirements.
