Vertas is seeking an Assistant Manager to join the Catering team at The Lodge Forest Cafe, Stirling. You will support the Catering Manager in supervising the café, ensuring hygiene standards, managing staff, and overseeing day-to-day kitchen and front-of-house operations.

The role involves administrative duties such as orders, cash handling, stock control and monitoring budgets, with a focus on cost control to keep the business profitable.

Responsibilities

• Check and record all food and non-food deliveries and take action as needed.
• Assist in controlling costs for consumables and staff labour to ensure profitability.

About the Role:

Based at The Lodge Forest Cafe, Trossachs Road, Stirling, FK8 3SX you will be working 37.5 hours a week roughly from 9am to 5pm on a rota basis including weekends and bank holidays.

Your responsibilities will include

• Supporting the Catering Manager in supervision of the café including monitoring hygiene standards, staff training and all day-to-day operations of the kitchen and front of house.
• Administrative work, including placing orders, cash handling, stock control and monitoring of food budgets
• Checking and recording all food/non-food deliveries and taking any necessary action required
• Helping the manager to control costs for consumables and staff labour to ensure the business is profitable
